Keepers of the Tradition is a collaborative venture between portrait artist Leslie Roberts Gregg and author Michael Abraham to showcase a dozen contemporary Appalachian people who are keeping the traditions of their forefathers alive. The project began in December 2013 and in February 2015, design files were sent to the printer for the book.
The dozen fine art portraits are in a framed, signed collection, available to show at area art galleries.
The book and portraits were unveiled on April 26, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at the Alexander Black House and Cultural Center, 204 Draper Road SW in downtown Blacksburg, Virginia. The public is invited.
The book is 9 x 12, hardcover, full color, 96 pages, and is published by Pocahontas Press. It is available here on the website and at area merchants after the unveiling. See the Bookstore for purchasing information.
